Owen Update

Happy Friday! We're back after this week's doctor's visit. I'm 1 cm dilated and completely effaced. With 7 days to go until the due date, the doctor said he could come any day now. Carlee Scott was 3 days late so I keep thinking Owen will be late, too. We'll keep everyone posted!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!! What a fun morning we have had. Carlee Scott was thrilled to see that Santa enjoyed the cookies she made. She had a blast opening gifts! She got a Doodle Pro from Santa, a little toddler CD player from us, some hand-me-down toys from friends, as well as tons of goodies from our wonderful family. Mommy and Daddy received some GREAT gifts as well! Thank you to everyone who made our Christmas special!

Cookies For Santa

Since Santa needs some cookies tonight and Carlee Scott did so well making brownies, we thought she'd like to make some chocolate chip treats for the big guy. She's now in bed after a fun bath, and Will and I are about to enjoy our quiet Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas Eve to all our loved ones!

Christmas Eve Fun

I got off work at 2:30 today (YES!) so we headed to our church's playground for some fun! Carlee Scott had a ball.

Carlee Scott's First Brownies

A coworker of Will's gave us a jar of brownie mix for Christmas and we decided Carlee Scott should use it for her very first batch today. She did a great job of helping and we had lots of fun!

Owen's Room

Some of you have been wanting to see Owen's somewhat-finished room. Here it is! I took the photos at night so the lighting isn't that great. You get the idea. The only thing I'm missing is something to go over the changing table. I think I'll eventually hang a family quilt there. The room doesn't really have a "theme." It's just light blue and navy blue. I wanted something simple and very tranquil. It's by far my favorite room in the house. Enjoy the photos. Only 14 days to go until the due date!

Owen Update

Here's the weekly Owen update! I just got back to work after seeing the doctor. I don't have much to report, other than the fact that he's dropped and is in good position! The doctor didn't check for dilation, but knowing he's dropped is exciting - he's making progress. His heartbeat sounded strong and my blood pressure was perfect. Only 18 days until the due date!

Santa Excitement

Carlee Scott enjoyed dancing to Christmas music on the way to see Santa today!

Here Comes Santa Claus

We went to see Santa today! Carlee Scott did a wonderful job. We had to wait in line for 45 minutes but I think that was a good thing. She got to see other children sitting on his lap and she also got to wave at him and say "Hi Santa!" several times. When it was our turn, she didn't want to sit on his lap. Being the mean mom I am, I just plopped her down on his knee and said "Smile!" Thankfully, she did. She seemed to enjoy her time with him and even gave him a huge hug before we left. As we were walking away, she exclaimed "I DO IT!" What she meant was "I did it!" We were so tickled by her enthusiasm. It was such a fun visit. Now that Will has finished his Fall semester, we're enjoying an "Alley Family Day." No studying for Daddy!! Only playtime, Santa visit, relaxing, eating, and napping. Good times for all.

Here's me at 37 weeks and 1 day. Only 20 more days until the due date.

Not so sure about this big guy in red.

Okay, he's cool (and quite cozy). I like him.

Potty Time

Ever since Carlee Scott turned 2, we've been talking about going potty. We haven't pressed the issue and we have no timeline, but the little potty seat is in the bathroom for whenever she decides to use it. She's recently been wanting to sit on it before bathtime at night, and it's hilarious to watch her sit there and do absolutely nothing. She's so proud of herself just for sitting there. She hasn't actually gone potty yet, but we're in no rush. Anyway, after her bath tonight, she told us that Baby had to go potty. She took off Baby's clothes and rushed her into the bathroom. Below is a picture of what she did. Will and I were rolling with laughter.

Owen Update

I had another doctor's appointment this morning and with 25 days to go, all is going well. Owen's heartbeat is strong and he's moving around perfectly. His head was so low that she couldn't check for dilation. I was glad to hear that he's so low - less he has to travel once labor starts, right?! :) She also said that I'm almost completely effaced (sorry if that's too much information). As far as weight goes, she thinks he's definitely 7lbs already and on his way to being close to 9lbs. We shall see! Just wanted to give you all an update. We're almost there!

Random Shots

Not a whole lot going on down here, so I have nothing interesting to post. However, here are some random shots from over the past week or so.

Post-bath snuggle with Daddy.

Bear is not a big fan of Carlee Scott.

Playing with blocks on the window sill. She lined them up and called it a choo choo train.

Crazy hair girl.

Cheeeeeeeese.
